The pen and the rifle —

There isn't much difference between the two,

Between words and ammunition.

 

With these you can choose 

To either kill a man or guard his life,

To rob a woman of her dignity or defend her honor,

To provide food for our children or make them starve.

 

                         So…

 

Teachers and scholars, storytellers and poets...

 

Whether you know it or not,

You are soldiers.

 

Drafted into a worldwide war

Between progress and regress,

Between oppression and liberation.

 

                        Now...

 

Load your ammo, aim your pen and fire away!

Let those rounds go off:

A burst of truth

Shot at the heart of our youth.

 

Teachers and scholars, storytellers and poets...

You are soldiers.

                        So, which side are you going to fight for?
