There isn't much difference

between words and ammunition

between the pen and the rifle

 

With these you can choose

to either kill a man or guard his life

to rob a woman of her freedom or defend her liberties

to provide nourishment for our children or starve them off of life

 

                         So…

 

Teachers and scholars, storytellers and poets...

 

Whether you want to or not

you are soldiers

 

Drafted into a worldwide conflict

between progress and regress

between oppression and liberation

 

                        Now...

 

Load your ammo aim your pen and fire away 

let those rounds go off

 

A burst of truth

shot at the heart of our youth

 

Teachers and scholars, storytellers and poets...

you are soldiers
