You might see just an old man,

      but he’s much more than that:

An unwritten memoir,

      and each wrinkle and gray hair, a chapter…

 

 

He’s lived a thousand lives

and viewed the world through a million lenses;

 

Led battalions to victory

but lost skirmishes in the battlefield of love;

 

Been both the hero and the villain,

but it’s just a matter of who you ask;

 

He's marched a million jarring journeys

and has lived a thousand lives.

​

 

You see just an old man,

      but he’s so much more than that:

A book waiting to be re-opened

      and each crease and silver hair, a chapter...
